How A Concrete Curbing Machine For Sale Should Work For You

By Marissa Velazquez

A concrete curbing machine for sale is equipment that is specifically designed as an extruder that will form mower strips, edging and borders. This equipment is quite helpful in a number of concrete-related projects like golf course edging, and sidewalk projects. It is also used for creating concrete circles with the potential of creating just over 500 feet of curbs in a single hour depending on the rate it is been fed with, below is a snippet into how your equipment should work for you after you purchase it.

The assembly stage of the equipment is important to ensure that it does work as it is supposed to. Typically, the equipment is found with body assembly, different types of slip forms, steering handles, a hopper and three wheels for moving it along the ground easily. You need to refer to the manufacturer's instructions while putting it together to ensure that you do it correctly, since different models and manufacturers offer different instructions.

To start using the equipment, you need to pre-mix your mixture of cement and sand before you even start your machine. The mixture will then be fed to the hopper and your equipment will then remove curbs on to the ground near the base. For easier handling, it is advisable to place the equipment at the point where you intend your pathway or curb to start.

Start your equipment by following the instructions given in your operator manual then feed hopper using shovels. Operating the machinery will require you having two individuals working hand in hand to ensure smooth operation and faster completion of your project. One individual will be responsible for steering the machinery while the other will solely be responsible for feeding the mixture into hopper.

As long as the mixture is in the hopper, the equipment should be able to propel itself and only stop once it is emptied. From the hopper, the mixture is led down the auger to the slip forms that give the resultant blocks their shapes. The blocks then come out at the bottom and are carefully laid out on the path as required by the operator.

A trick to keep the curb equipment moving in the chosen direction is to ensure that the hopper is not entirely empty. The person feeding the hopper should always be alert enough to keep up with the levels if the desired results are to be achieved. To ensure that the hopper does not get jammed, the operator should only make use of fine sand in the mixture and never gravel, as this will lead to faster wear and tear.

While at the steering wheel, the operator should frequently consult the leveler to ensure that everything is up and running as it should be. It is worthy of noting that it is also his or her responsibility to ensure that the equipment is steered in the right direction since there is no mechanism to ensure the direction sought is kept. Using these tips the operator can have an efficiently working machinery for many years to come.

However, a concrete curbing machine for sale has its limitations. While creating curbs into such obstructions like walls or a trench, remaining portions of such curbs have to be completed by hand. While working with circles, you will need to make use of trowels manually.
