James Malinchak's Dreams Derived Out Of Teams

By Liam Martin

I've been known to say, "Teamwork Makes Your Dream Work." The reason I love this quote is that I've noticed we have been made to believe in the myth called the 'Self-Made Millionaire.' That does not make sense to me. As a millionaire now, I cannot fathom what the term 'self made millionaire' means. Can we honestly say that any millionaire is 'self-made?' I do not believe that we can become millionaires on our own. The most significant things in life take a team, and from my experience it takes teamwork to make your dream work.

Think it over. If you want to become a millionaire, then you need the support of your husband or wife, your significant other, your boyfriend or girlfriend, and your kids. To be successful and be able to overcome challenges in your company, you need the support of a mastermind group. To make sure you are on the right path and to work 'right' instead of working hard, you need the support of a mentor. To keep you and your family secure while you are starting off your business, you need your friends, your brothers, and your sisters. Frankly, there's just no such thing as a self-made millionaire.

Yes, there are plenty of things I did do by myself, but not entirely by myself. Along the way to becoming a millionaire, I had terrific mentors. I had the loving support of my family. I had the astounding support from my friends. Therefore, while I would love to think it was all me, I'm extremely honored to have a team behind me. I heard one of the best quotes That I have ever heard while driving one day. Actually, it was so good that I pulled over just so I can write it down. I wish I can remember who said it, but the quote was: "Anything you want to do in life, you have to do it, but you can't do it alone."

Consider that. Anything we would like to do in life, whether it is professionally, personally, or financially, we need to do it. Nobody could do it for us. It's true we need to do it, but we can't do it alone. Who are you going to enroll in your goal, in your dream of becoming rich, of taking your income to a higher level? That's the way millionaires think. Millionaires enroll those into their plans who love them, who support them, who encourage them, and who might open a door for them. Millionaires hang out with people that remind them that they're doing it and who encourage them to keep doing it. That's what you need to do. Remember, you can't do it by yourself.

You might ask, "Exactly how do I get such a team of support?" I get it; not everybody has the best supporters in friends and family. The truth is, some people's friends and family work against them and are a determent to encouragement. Therefore, the very first thing I suggest is to spend less time with your family members, and I strongly encourage you to get new friends! If you need a team, you need to attract a team. Become a friendly person who's upbeat, who's of service to others, and who's interested in what others are saying. When you invest in others by being a support to them and when you invest in yourself by employing a mentor, you begin attracting the right people into your life as your greatest supporters. You don't have to start with a team, but, by being a team player, you'll attract the team to you. When you have a small team, you're ready to play ball!
