A simple definition of Hosted PBX Canada (private branch exchange) is normally a switch station for telephones, commonly known as computerized branch exchange). Its components are different branches of telephone lines that help relay information to and from the switch. Not to mention its use in metering, recording statistics and measure the quantity of data. Technical roles include creating connections between phones and to properly end the connection when a call is dropped.

Furthermore businesses find them useful in connecting and linking external lines with internal phone lines. Auto attendant performs most of the services of receptionist thereby making it a cheaper alternative. This is important is because clients especially new ones expect attention and as a result are greeted by the system and asked what option they would like to be assisted with.

It has become common practice for callers to conceal their identities. A solution exists for; the system can block all anonymous calls. It equally does the same for numbers put on the firms block list. As a result the company will not receive any information from this category of customers.

time exists for different type of functions. A time when callers deem convenient to them might not be convenient for the company. Not to worry, this feature is programmed to redirect them to voice or other numbers in the same department. This creates a win-win situation for client and business. The employee responsible for the caller in return is not disturbed by ringing phones.

To understand clearly the concepts of using PBX some clarifications are in order. Internet is not included in the package; some systems may require the purchase of new phones since they can become incompatible with old phone. Auto-assistant does not mean auto-problem solver. It will require management intervention for some queries by callers.

Companies and business like to use them for a number of reasons. First, they are allowed to keep their original numbers, phones bills are individually, not to forget it saves on telephone costs. All in all hosted PBX Canada services may operate either on public switch telephone or through the internet or both at the same time.
