A career in graphic arts can be both rewarding and fulfilling for those individuals who wish to face a new challenge at work every day and who want to have the freedom of using their artistic creativity with in their profession. Graphic art professionals typically are responsible for creating visual impressions, either by hand or by using a computer generation program, that are commissioned for a number of reasons.

Paying someone else to do it can be expensive, especially if all you want is one or two copies for friends. They would have to scan in the painting to the computer or repaint it themselves. The price of using their services is only worth it if you're producing your painting at a wide scale. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, available positions for graphic designers in the job market will grow at a rate of 13% over the next decade. While graphic design is not the fastest growing industry, graphic art positions are projected to steadily grow through the years.
